The 2012 MSR Evo Ascent snowshoes are high-tech tools for winter backcountry adventures. They represent the evolution of MSR Snowshoes original Unibody design which revolutionized the snowshoe industry in 1995. The all-new 2012 MSR Evo Ascent snow shoes are for going anywhere you point them, even if it is straight up. Featuring the MSR Unibody traction system with vertical steel traction rails and in-molded horizontal braking bars, and the ice biting Pivot crampon under foot, the Evo Ascents provide exceptional, reliable grip on the steepest pitches, even when traversing. The Unibody snowshoe frames also feature the proprietary Televator heel riser bar that easily snaps into position with an easy to reach tab to reduce calf fatigue on long climbs. The glove friendly, four strap PosiLock AT binding system uses a two-piece design for optimum comfort and fit that conforms to virtually all winter footwear, from a women’s light hiking boot to a men’s snowboard boot. As MSR Snowshoes most aggressive and secure bindings, the PosiLock AT bindings secure the boot with four low friction speed straps that slip easily through the newly designed stainless steel tabs and lock down to ensure a solid strap engagement that will not budge.
The MSR Evo Ascent snowshoes are compatible with the MSR Evo Flotation tails (sold separately; see accessories below) which attach in seconds and provide an additional 6” of length for increased traction and float on demand. - Unibody Traction - Steel crampons, traction rail blades with integrated saber teeth and braking bars integrated directly in snowshoe deck provide unmatched traction.
