Redesigned with more innovative features than ever, the MSR Lightning Ascent snowshoes include the revolutionary new PosiLock AT bindings and now also offer flotation tail
compatibility. Simply attach the 5" MSR Lightning Flotation tails (sold separately; see accessories below) and gain dramatically increased traction and float when encountering deep conditions, extreme terrain or carrying a sizeable backpack cargo load etc.
The 360°
Total-Traction frames are made with one vertical blade of aerospace-grade aluminum, supported by two cross-members of high-strength steel. The sharp, aggressive edge profile digs into snow and ice for unrivaled traction, even when side traversing icy slopes. The proprietary urethane decking material is waterproof, durable, and extremely lightweight. The four strap PosiLock AT bindings employ a two-piece design for optimum comfort and fit that conforms to virtually any winter footwear, from light hiking shoes to mountaineering boots & snowboard boots. Features low friction speed straps that slip easily through the stainless steel tabs and lock down to ensure a solid strap
engagement that will not budge. The MSR Lightning Ascent True-Hinge™ steel crampon not only grips, it provides stability and reduces heel drift for a more efficient gait. Includes integrated MSR Ergo Televator heel lift, which dramatically reduces fatigue on long climbs, and can be raised or lowered easily by using either the grip of your snowshoe poles or with your hand. All materials are waterproof, will not soak up any water, freeze, and turn heavy.
